1st Annual Grindstone Women’s Charity Tournament - Kelowna July 21-23

We are excited to announce our 1st Annual Grindstone Women’s Charity Tournament! The Grindstone Award Foundation is a newly formed Registered Canadian Charity that provides financial support and equipment to female hockey players in need.

Right now we have players registered from Alberta to Washington which is great but we need more players to make this a success. If you could help spread the word to players in your area, or come and participate that would mean a lot.

DateJuly 21-23, 2017
Cost: $80/per player (individual or group or team sign up)
Where: Royal LePage Place, West Kelowna

  • ALL PROCEEDS go towards the Charity and our goal of sponsoring 10 young female players this upcoming season.
  • Open to all levels (this is a fun and friendly tournament)
  • Individual or group or team sign up.
  • Silent Auction (you will not want to miss these items as we have many supporting partners!)
  • Grindstone Pub Night
  • Sport Chek Skills Competition

Play in a tournament and make a difference. Think about how much hockey has added to your life… and now think about how cool it would be to help a girl, who otherwise might not have been able to, experience the joy of hockey. Pretty cool if you ask us!

Please check our website for more information and registration details at:

The charity is a pure grass roots initiative and there are a few of us working really hard right now trying to get it off the ground. The recent highlight on Hockey Night in Canada was an honor and has certainly helped push us into the National spotlight. If you missed it, check it out (

If you have any questions please let us know,

PS On the same weekend, we are also putting on a FREE event for Girls aged 5-17 who want to come out and try hockey, or come out for some extra ice. So if you have daughters, bring them out too :) For more info on Girl's Rock the Rink:
